Sooji Lim earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art History from UCLA and has been an active figure in the Los Angeles art scene since 2013, working across galleries, museums, and creative spaces. In addition to her visual art practice, she has worked as a freelance floral designer since 2019, specializing in event design, setup, and management in Los Angeles, and Seoul Korea.

She primarily works with oil paint on wood panels and canvas, drawn to its rich texture and depth. Her art blends modern elements with a timeless aesthetic, using palette knives to layer paint and incorporating wood grains and gold leaf to enhance dimension and luminosity.
For Lim, wood symbolizes time and life, inspiring her to integrate natural elements into her installations. By bridging canvas and nature, she seeks to evoke a sense of unity between viewers and the natural world, encouraging appreciation for its beauty, resilience, and enduring presence.
